The Elders

The elders are responsible for the mission and government of the church.  The session of Penningtonville is made up of 6 elders, each of whom chairs different Ministry Teams and Committees. We have 4 Ministry Teams - Worship, Christian Education, Stewardship & Mission and Membership & Outreach - and several Committees including Budget, Personnel, Finance, Nominating, and Memorial. The session is also responsible along with the pastor to lead the congregation in developing their relationship with Jesus Christ, as well as overseeing the work of all other boards and committees.

The Deacons

It is the duty of deacons, first of all, to minister to those who are in need, to the sick, to the friendless, and to any who may be in distress both within and beyond the community of faith. The Board of Deacons at Penningtonville is made up of 9 individuals, each of whom is responsible for the different ministries the deacons provide. Among their various ministries, the deacons of Penningtonville visit with shut-ins, provide meals to those recovering from recent illness or hospitalization, collect clothing for the homeless mission, and maintain a food pantry.  The deacons also provide a Thanksgiving Dinner to Seniors in the area, provide for S.U.R.F (Seniors Uniting for Recreation and Fun), send care packages to students away from home, and mail bulletins to homebound members.  The highlight of the deacon's calendar is the Annual Strawberry Festival held in June each year.

The Trustees

The primary responsibilities of the trustees are the maintenance and upkeep of the church buildings and grounds. They are also in charge of managing any funds given specifically for the maintenance and upkeep of the church buildings and grounds. Monthly Church Work-Crews are organized to help accomplish the ordinary tasks of maintaining an old building. Snow removal, grass cutting, window cleaning, and pipe replacing are only a few of the things the trustees do to keep our church looking beautiful.

The Pastor

The Rev. Jason T. Link has been the pastor of Penningtonville Presbyterian Church since July of 2004. Along with his wife Krista their son Owen, and their daughter Isabel the Link family enjoys the quiet and slow pace of life that country living provides. Jason brings new energy and excitement to Penningtonville that has been contagious. Many new faces have been added to the Penningtonville family, as well as old friends who have come back around. New programs have also been added. Jason enjoys working with the children and youth as well as preaching and leading the people in worshipping God. Jason also enjoys walking their four-legged family member, Willie as well as playing basketball, volleyball and tennis.
